The sextet Quejas de Bandoneón was founded by the flute player Cristina Bertoli in 1997. The trascriptions from old records, made by the bandoneon player Marco Fabbri, give life to a very wide repertory, which includes pieces of authors like Juan de Dios Filiberto, Anibal Troilo, Agustin Bardi, Horacio Salgān, Osvaldo Pugliese, that date back to the golden age of the Argentine tango, and Astor Piazzolla and his Tango Nuevo.
After the debut, occurred during the final of the "Concorso Internazionale Astor Piazzolla" in Castelfidardo (1997), the sextet begins to perform in several milongas: Bergamo, Potenza, La Spezia, Florence, Cesena, Bologne, Rome, Venice, Udine, Modena, etc.
Important co-operations start very soon: with the dancers Esteban Moreno and Claudia Codega, Tobias Bert and Annalisa Di Luzio, for the show "Con este tango", part of the concert season of the Teatro della Limonaia di Villa Strozzi in Florence (1999); with the choreographer and dancer Gustavo Saenz and the dancers Georgina Vargas, Osvaldo Roldan and Monica Maria in the Festival internazionale di San Pantaleo - Olbia (2000); with Javier Rodriguez and Geraldine Rojas (interpreters of the movie "Assassination Tango" by R. Duvall); with Adrian Aragon and Erica Boaglio (dancers in the show"Forever tango" by Miguel Angel Zotto); with Alfredo Granado and Leticia Lucero, dancers and choreographers of the Compagnia Gente de Tango; with Alejandro Aquino; with Graciela Rostom and Fernando Serrano; with Patricia Hilliges and Matteo Panero; with Patricia Carrazco and Pablo Linares; with Roberto Reis; with Margarita Klurfan and Walter Cardozo; with Silvina Aguera and Sebastian Romero.
The sextet plays also in various concerts in important international shows: Summerfestival in Sasso Marconi - BO (from 1998 till 2006); Festival "Volterrateatro.00" where it represents ethnic music together with artists like Herminia and Goran Bregovic; Carnival in Venice; Teatro della Regina, Cattolica; Sala Tripcovich, Trieste; Teatro Sannazzaro, Napoli; Pera Palace Hotel, Istanbul Turchia; Latin Classix - Muenchner Philarmonie, Munich, Germany, in co-operation with Pilsen radio symphonic orchestra (Czech Republic); etc.
In October 2002, the first tour in the United States: New York, Washington D.C., Raleigh (North Carolina), Philadelphia, etc.
Since 2006, thanks to the co-operation with Luciano Padovani's "Compagnia Naturalis Labor", "Quejas de bandoneon" has participated to the most important international dance festivals: Arena del Sole, Bologna; Festival Abanodanza, Abano Terme (PD); Festival Danzaestate, Bergamo; Castelloestate 2008, Ferrara; Festival Acquidanza ;
